The global pandemic has changed many peoples lives and two areas that many will have seen affected by Covid are finance and employment.
POA Learning have launched a series of free webinars, to be run over three days in November to offer support, advice and guidance to those who may be going through a tough time.
Budgeting allows you to create a spending plan for your money it makes sure you will always have enough money for the things you need and maybe a little treat. If you can follow a budget or spending plan it will help you keep out of debt or work your way out of debt.
There are a lot of terms used in finance, so do you know your APR from your AER?, do you have a handle on what is coming in, and going out every month?, Adrian Ryan from unionlearn will present a highly popular session about budgeting.
In this session we will give you basic budgeting tips, using free online budgeting planners and other techniques to help manage your personal finances.
Adrian will be with us on Tuesday 17th November from 2pm – 3pm, Wednesday 18th November from 5pm – 6pm and Thursday 19th November from 10am – 11am.
If you are unemployed and looking for work the benefits system provides practical help and financial support. It also provides you with additional income when your earnings are low, if you are bringing up children, are retired, care for someone, are ill or have a disability.
Some may be confused by the benefits system or it could be something that is completely new, so join Clive Bolland from Citizens Advice as he talks through a number of subjects in the benefits system including; the types of benefits available, universal credit and its application process and the effects that redundancy has on benefits.
Clive’s sessions will run on Tuesday 17th November from 10am – 12pm, Wednesday 18th November from 2pm – 4pm and Thursday 19th November from 5pm – 7pm.
With furlough schemes coming to an end and some of you finding yourselves unemployed or under threat of redundancy, Dave Logan from POA Learning will be offering advice in his session around employability skills.
You may already be out of work or are looking to change career or know that your current role is uncertain, in these difficult and challenging times this crucial session will cover some key topics including; CV writing, job searches, completing an application form and interview techniques.
