Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Cost - £300 (tutor led course) or £249 (online course)

The Level 3 Award is aimed at a range of a learners: those that have recently started teaching and need an initial award as a tutor, or those delivering work based training within the voluntary, community, private and public sectors. 

The course is made up of the following units: 

  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

  • Understanding assessment in education and training

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

Level 3 Certificate in Management

Cost - £549 (payment options available)

This course covers: 

  • The key principles of management and leadership

  • Improving your own management and leadership performance

Plus two additional optional units which the learner will choose from the following options: 

  • Managing the delivery of customer service

  • Recruiting and selecting staff

  • Appraising and developing staff

  • Supporting organisational change initiatives

ECDL Essentials (Level 1)

The qualification is a great introduction to the world of technology. It will help you to build your confidence with technology. The ECDL Essentials covers the fundamentals of IT, security and using email and the internet. 

ECDL Extra (Level 2)

Cost - To be advised

The "Extra" qualification will help you to develop your knowledge of IT and your skills on Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as introducing you to database software. It will also give you the keys to improve your productivity using IT. 

Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Food Safety

Cost - To be advised

The Award will allow you to have a good knowledge of the terminology used in food safety, the laws applying to food business and food handlers. You will be able to understand the concept of food hazards and poisoning, and the importance of temperatures and cleaning.

ADHD Awareness (CPD accredited)

Cost - To be advised

A workshop aimed at developing awareness regarding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This focuses on key topics surrounding ADHD, such as symptoms, causes, treatments and support strategies.

Taster sessions in Sign Languages

Cost - To be advised

A two-hour session delivered by a fully-qualified British Sign Language (BSL) tutor looking at finger spelling, greetings and basic singing.

Resilience Training

Provide staff with the awareness of what being resilient is, why we need it in the Prison Service, 4 Pillars of Resilience, what to do if the Resilience is impacted.

Functional Skills & Learning Difficulty/Disability awareness

Upon request

This course will help you recognise the impact of the varying functional skills abilities, learning difficulties and disabilities; you will have the information to be able to refer your colleagues to the appropriate agencies. 

Dyslexia Screener

Upon request

Care has been taken to make the procedure as straightforward as possible. It provides an excellent first step in deciding whether to request a full assessment, and to provide an overview of your strengths and weaknesses which can be used to guide the intervention training strategies for the individual. 

Please note that this is a screener and not an assessment.

CV writing/Interview skills

We work with you to enable you to see your skills, abilities and work experiences to produce a portfolio of competencies write an expression of interest, or to help develop future career opportunities. 

Where geographically possible, we work 1 to 1 with you to prepare you for interview and can assist with production of a CV and covering letter. 

Effective Minute Taking Training (CPD accredited)

This a one day course designed for anyone who may have to perform the role of minute taker at formal meetings. The course explores the minute taker's role, the practicalities of note-taking, and producing a set of formal minutes that record the proceedings of a meeting. 

The course covers topics such as : pre-planning, agenda, use a template, clarify decisions, record taking, transcribing, distributing, filing/storing, tips & tricks. 

No experience is necessary, and learning is supported through handouts, exercises and multimedia.

Effective Decision Making Training

Have you ever considered why people make good or bad decisions?  Have you always made rational decisions? What is rationality? This short course examines some evidence that addresses these questions and others.  Further, human decision-making is often situated in an organisational context. How people make decisions is central to any understanding of management and organisational behaviour?
