The Role of a ULR

Union Learning Representatives (ULRs) help to give people the skills and knowledge to improve their lives at work and beyond. ULRs have been key in building participation in lifelong learning. As well as helping individual members, ULRs have had a positive effect upon workplaces and organisations themselves.

The Prison Officers Association hosts a large network of ULRs based in prisons across the UK, with ULRs working in conjunction with POA Learning to promote learning and training opportunities to POA members, prison service staff and their families.
