In October/November 2005 Haverigg Key Learning Centre moved into a different part of the building that it occupied. It was decided that a re-launch of the centre would be held to promote the 'new centre'. This was held on Monday 5th June 2006.
The centre was officially re-opened by Kevin Rowan, Northern Regional Secretary of the TUC. Other guest speakers on the day were Brian Caton, General Secretary of the POA, and Clive Chatterton, Governor of HMP Haverigg.
Other guests included; the newly-appointed mayor of Millom, local town councillors, local TUC project workers, staff of HMP Haverigg, POA ULR's from other Establishments, other local ULR's, representatives from other local authorities, a selection of learners, and of course Andy.
The guest speakers all spoke well of how the centre has developed, how links with the local community have been developed, and the new potential to expand even further with the new accommodation.

After the speakers, Pete France presented a few of the learners present with certificates to reward their achievements.
A plaque was then unveiled, by Kevin Rowan, to celebrate the re-launch.
The guests were then invited to look around the centre, have a go on the computers, and eat the food that had been provided.
Overall the day went well and most people felt positive about the future of the centre, particularly the role that it could play within the local community.
