Whitemoor Ray King HMP Whitemoor’s Ray King Learning Centre was officially opened on 20th April 2010. It is outside the establishment and can therefore open its doors to staff members as well as their families and also the local community. We have an eclectic approach to learning and will listen to any suggestions for courses. The centre is both a UnionLearning Centre and part of the Government backed UkOnline project. Some courses are free and we use a mixture of taught and e-learning approaches subject to the needs of the individual. Where we have to provide an external tutor we have to cover their costs but we split the cost between all participants on the course. By making the courses more popular we can keep the costs very competitive. Every learner visiting the centre is offered an Information, Advice and Guidance session with one of our trained staff who will help you decide the right courses for you. Our courses are flexible to suit everyone’s needs as we appreciate shift working can make attending a course awkward. Our opening times are listed below: Outside these hours you may be able to see an advisor or courses may be organised, subject to room availability.
